Assistant Solicitor for Sheku Bayo Inquiry The Scottish Inquiry is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Solicitor to join the legal team for the Sheku Bayo Inquiry. As an Assistant Solicitor, you will work closely with the Counsel team and the Chair to support the inquiry process. This is a technical role that requires excellent analytical skills and experience working with a high volume of legal documentation. Assistant Solicitor for Sheku Bayo Inquiry The Scottish Inquiry is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Solicitor to join the legal team for the Sheku Bayo Inquiry. As an Assistant Solicitor, you will work closely with the Counsel team and the Chair to support the inquiry process. This is a technical role that requires excellent analytical skills and experience working with a high volume of legal documentation. Responsibilities: Analyze a high volume of legal documentation backssing for relevancy to the Inquiry terms of reference Take witness statements for future hearings Work on the redaction and disclosure of the relevant documentation Prepare advice and submissions to the Chair Requirements: Experience working at a Public Inquiry Experience taking in-person witness statements and drafting statementinteractionperience drafting rule 8 requests under the Inquiries Scotland Ruleinteractionperience with redaction Excellent communication skillinteractionperience working with high volumes of evidence and providing detailed legal analysis of that material Qualifications: The successful candidate for this role will have a law degree and be a qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate. They will have experience working at a Public Inquiry and taking in-person witness statements. They will also have experience drafting rule 8 requests under the Inquiries Scotland Rules and working with high volumes of evidence.
