ABOUT PRIORITY DESIGNS Priority Designs is an employee-owned product development company with Midwest roots, and over 30 years of multi-national clients in the consumer, industrial and healthcare space. Our projects range from a few days of client support to multiyear full scale product development activities. We're a team of 75+ designers, engineers, researchers, and prototyping experts, where big egos are discouraged and the ability to collaborate and have fun (often simultaneously) is required. Our flat organizational structure eliminates the bureaucracy of traditional management and has been a core tenet intended to foster a team mentality and encourage individual ownership over one's work and career. There is no ladder to climb, yet there are personal and professional growth opportunities. When people have agency and autonomy, great things happen. We encourage staff to play to their strengths, build on their gifts, and grow in their areas of interest. Culture Priorities in life. Priority in design. It all started with the name. Our founders created a company that encourages staff to prioritize what they value - a good work/life balance and a people first environment. Principles over policies. When possible, policies and red tape are avoided, focusing instead on the principles and people behind our decisions. Variety in work. We work in a wide variety of industries, so the day to day will surely have variety. If you enjoy learning new things and applying your expertise to different fields, then you'll enjoy working with us. Autonomy. We strive to create an environment where staff have flexibility to make their own decisions without being micromanaged, allowing them to take initiative and ownership with plenty of opportunities to master their craft. Building our reputation by helping others build theirs. PD is full of people who love what they do, who they work with, and who genuinely enjoy helping our clients do great work. Humility wins. Big egos don't impress us. Big ideas do. Our company was founded by people who share a passion for design - and a distaste for office politics. We always encourage putting egos aside and embracing humility. Seeking long term relationships. Over the years we've grown steadily, hired carefully, and nurtured long-term relationships with both clients and employees. When we hire, we often conduct interviews as a group because we want to make sure everyone will work well together. The result is great teamwork, motivated employees, and consistently excellent work for our clients. Maker's paradise. PD is full of people who like to get their hands dirty and hone their craft. Half of our 50,000 square foot facility is dedicated to labs: Rapid Prototyping Lab, Fabrication Lab, Soft Goods Lab, and Photo Studio. Most things we need to do, we can do under our own roof.
