Capital University and the ELCA Region 6 Archives is looking for motivated, highly organized and dedicated candidates for the part-time position of ELCA Region 6 Archivist. The ELCA Region 6 Archivist manages the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Region 6 Archives, which serves the records management, archival, and research needs of ELCA synods and congregations in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and the lower Michigan peninsula. The ELCA Region 6 Archivist assists congregations and synods with records management, accessions incoming records, preserves and processes records, provides research, and educates others about records management, archives, and Lutheran history. The ELCA Region 6 Archivist also tracks finances and submits reports to ELCA bodies as needed. Under a special partnership with Capital University, the Region 6 archives is fully housed on our Bexley Campus at Trinity Lutheran Seminary. The Region 6 Archivist is an employee of Capital University and reports to the Head of Library Services for the day to day management and needs of the archives. This position also reports to the Region 6 Archives Advisory Board on matters of long-term direction, planning, financial reporting, and any other matters concerning the management and care of the collection. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in history, archival administration, library science, or related field. Minimum 1 year or equivalent of archival work. Strongly Preferred Qualifications: T.S/Theological education or equivalent experience preferred. Capital University is committed to increasing the diversity of the Capital community and curriculum.
