Description:
Capital University seeks two passionate science educators with specialization in the areas of environmental science and sustainability, genetics, or introductory biology, for full-time one year Visiting Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences beginning in Fall 2023. The successful candidates will be expected to teach across the curriculum and will be responsible for teaching fifteen (15) contact hours during each Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. The teaching responsibilities of both positions will include introductory and upper-level courses, research methods, and possibly an upper-level elective course in the department. The candidates may also have the opportunity to provide instruction in the University's Signature Learning program. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching and preference will be given to applicants that incorporate evidence-based teaching practices in their classrooms. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach across the curriculum, participate in departmental and campus service, and further contribute to an undergraduate student-centered research program.
