Overview: A Data Analytics Support Specialist seeks out and defines data from various sources and assists the Data Analytics Team with interpreting data, mapping data sources and assists in turning data into information which can offer ways to improve a business, thus affecting business decisions. The Data Analytics Support Specialist gathers information from various sources via various tools and methods and helps interpret patterns and trends. Once data has been gathered and interpreted, the Data Analytics Support Specialist will report back what has been found in a comprehensive study to the wider business/relevant colleagues via various published formats of reports or filters on existing reports. This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position that is located at our HQ office in Columbus OH. Primary Functions & Responsibilities: Collecting, consolidating, and analyzing financial data, taking into account company's goals and financial standing Mapping data sources for future usage Gathering, assembling, and summarizing data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks Support the development of financial organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives Supports the establishment of financial operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer service data; designing data systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change Support the development organization by analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement. Additional duties as assigned Qualifications: Preferred: A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or Economics and/or equivalent work experience 2+ years progressive experience with MS SQL Manage stakeholder relationships within one or more business areas by spending routine time with designated business parties to understand their needs. Understand Core tenants of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) principles, processes, technologies and tools including management. 2 years of analyzing datasets and comprehensive reporting Experience with database access and documentation Ability to analyze large datasets Strong verbal and written skills An analytical mind and inclination for problem solving Attention to detail Defining new data collection and analysis processes Ability to develop new skills needed for the required duties Ability to analyze and evaluate people, data, and things to determine courses of action Ability to effectively and tactfully deal with people Ability to shift back and forth between two or more tasks or projects Ability to understand and accurately apply basic math skills Ability to make competent use of work-related equipment and materials Ability to access areas where needed people, information or equipment are located Ability to produce results and have the flexibility to identify and respond to changes in priorities Equal Opportunity Employer Surge is an equal opportunity employer.
