Type: On-call Locations: DHS/USCIS Dallas Field Office, 6500 Campus Circle Drive East, Irving, TX 75063 ASC Dallas North, 10051 Whitehurst Drive, Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75243 ASC Dallas South, 1100 East Pleasant Run Road, Suite 190, Desoto, TX 75115 ASC Forth Worth, Landmark Lakes Shopping Center, 5932 Quebec Street, Suite 160, Forth Worth, TX 76135 Plano Event Center, 2000 E Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 75074 Job Summary: Sanford Federal, Inc is looking to hire an American sign language interpreter to provide ASL interpretation services in-person for Deaf or Hard of Hearing applicants on an as-needed basis for the USCIS Dallas Field Offices. Qualifications: Must possess Certifications of educational background in Deaf and Hard of Hearing community (in-person, V-Teleconference, Videophone (relay services) using government acronyms and familiar with government terminology. Must have at least 1-year work experience in performing sign language services in a public or private industry setting. Must have the ability to interpret personal sessions of a sensitive nature. Must have the ability to sign to voice and voice to sign when a Deaf or Hard of Hearing person's speech is not easily understood. Must have the ability to imitate nuances, tone information, inflection, and the spirit of the speaker's voice to enable the Deaf or Hard of Hearing person to fully receive messages. Must have the ability to select, highlight, and abstract with context when dealing with complicated concepts, idioms, etc. Must adhere to confidentiality requirements. Must work collaboratively and professionally with other interpreters during assignments. Must have a QAST rating of 4 or 5 to ensure a high level of capability. Duties: Provide ASL interpretation services upon request for the naturalization ceremonies, outreaches, and naturalization and adjustment interviews at the USCIS Dallas Field Offices.
