University Housing & Dining at the University of Iowais seeking to hire multiple Custodian I positions to contribute to safe, clean, and healthy environments in our studentresidence halls.Duties to include: - Cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting restrooms- Floor work including vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, and extracting- Cleaning/sanitizing horizontal and vertical surfaces including glass, walls, ceilings, and light fixtures- Completing student work orders including bed configurationsThe shift for these positions is 7:30AM to 4:00PM, workingevery other weekendwith rotating days off. Occasional overtime may be available to cover absences and during peak periods of operation. Desirable Qualifications: * Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions. * Experience working in a physically demanding position and moving up to 50 lbs. regularly. * Experience interacting with the customers. * Willingness to work in environments that vary in temperature (heat/cold) as well as noise level. * Ability to use commercial cleaning equipment.
