What you will do Working alongside other Banking and Payments Specialists (BPSs) covering the overnight operations, you provide collateral, payment and settlement services through the Canadian Depository for Securities (CDSX) and Canada’s Real Time Gross Settlement system (Lynx) to settle foreign exchange transactions on behalf of the Continuous Linked Settlement (CLS) Bank. Owing to the criticality of the operations, BPSs working the overnight shift must develop expertise in contingency procedures and participate in regular proprietary and system-wide testing. The Overnight Banking and Payments Specialist also provides a domestic payment and securities services for approximately 100 clients when overlapping shifts, including the Government of Canada, domestic financial institutions, other central banks and selected international institutions.
