EHS teams are comprised of three distinct disciplines that support our EHS Management System and processes at project sites and offices. These teams include environmental scientists, safety specialists, and industrial hygiene scientists. Collectively, they provide technical guidance and perform planning, risk assessment, inspections and monitoring, training, and data management. Project Overview Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers. Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M and T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world. An opportunity exists to work within the EHS team at one of our projects located in New Albany, Ohio. Position Summary The Environmental Scientist helps develop and execute the environmental component of an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program. Key activities involve administrative and field tasks per established industry practices, procedures, and regulatory and Bechtel requirements. The position involves practical application of biology, ecology, chemistry, social sciences, and related disciplines for managing environmental aspects of a project or facility. The position reports to the Project EHS Manager or Project Environmental Manager. Responsibilities :Assists in the development and implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and associated inspections.:Provides Technical Guidance in Permit Applications for various environmental disciplines (local and Federal): Conducts Field Inspections of several work fronts to ensure compliance with EHS Project and Regulatory requirements (SPCC, RCRA, CAA, etc.):Supports management of Hazardous Waste and ensures storage areas (SAAs and CAAs) are in compliance with RCRA regulations.
