Position Overview The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for completing the daily accounting tasks, processing accounts payable and working with the Treasurer to complete monthly and quarterly reconciliations. A successful Accounting Clerk will be able to adapt to the challenges that may arise while working for a smaller banking institution which may require assuming new duties. Accuracy and a strong attention to detail are imperative to the success of this position as well as complying with all bank regulations, policies, and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities Review and enter the daily general ledgers into Prologue. Daily reconciliation of the ATM/Debit Card settlement account. Review of previous days correspondent bank activity and post journal entries as necessary. Post daily ACH and in clearing journal entries provided by operations. Post daily ACH dismissals provided by operations. Research outstanding reconciling items and monitor corrections. Maintain daily outstanding bank check lists. Maintains outstanding bank check copies. Prepares and pays invoices after receiving proper authorization. Maintains AP vendor files. Works with the Treasurer to complete month end reconciliations. Process Freddie Mac payoffs. Assists with financial & compliance audits, regulatory exams, and year-end work. Complete quarterly Qualified Collateral Report. Assist with the preparation of the Call Report. Complete the monthly FHLB remittance report and recons. Performs other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Skills: Organized Flexible Detail oriented Professional Multitasking Work independently Focused Proficient in: Word and Excel Time management Banking Regulations Verbal and written communication Education/Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent Associates degree in accounting and/or a minimum of 1-3 years accounting experience Bookkeeping experience preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged period of sitting and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
