The General Ledger Accountant will help maintain the accuracy of the overall function of the ledger system and serve as a resource for this system. They will maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures for Mains’l. Coordinate and prepare budgets and forecasts. Oversee and coordinate year end annual audit with internal and external partners, including preparation of accounting schedules. This position will lead the preparations and analysis of monthly financial statements including distribution to department heads, executive team sand external partners. Job Responsibilities Include: Ensure distribution of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with accounting policies and procedures. Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing Monthly revenue and expense variance analysis Prepare and analyze balance sheet account reconciliations Manage Fixed Assets Prepare sales and use tax returns Annual budget creation, maintenance, and analysis Lead annual financial statement audit Lead annual 401k audit Lead worker’s compensation audits Conduct bank reconciliations for various accounts Ensure timely payment of federal and state taxes Solve and answer inquiries from various departments and enforce department policies Partner with tax firm for timely filing of federal and state tax returns Partner with insurance company to ensure proper rate recording and payment Develop and distribute reports based on the needs of various departments Review and approve purchasing card activity for payment Responsible for the unclaimed property report and filing for states where checks are issued Compilation of financial statements, budgets, accounts receivables, ad hoc and compliance reporting Qualifications/Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA is a plus. 5 years of progressive accounting experience High Level understanding of GAAP Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong Excel skills preferred Technical computer experience in the areas of financial systems Creative, innovative, inquisitive and eager to learn other accounting software programs Ability to use oral and written communication effectively Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and employees, and to recognize their needs Ability to adapt to changing roles and responsibilities Salary: $82,396-$84,562 DOE Location: Hybrid Remote in Brooklyn Park, MN We are about delivering exceptional quality and innovative services through engaged employees!
