This role supports internal communications for one of our Technology lines of business.This position will support communications focused on Capital One's technology solutions and innovations. As the first bank to go all in on the public cloud, Capital One has re-architected our applications and data platforms, embraced machine learning at scale, and built capabilities to manage a complex data and application environment in the cloud.As a member of the Corporate Communications team, you will be responsible for working with business partners and leaders to understand areas of need then build internal communications strategies designed to drive awareness and support other key business needs.The position requires exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills; a cross-platform communicator and strategic partner who is able to build trusted relationships, including with senior leaders, and understands how to translate business priorities into engaging, inspiring content and experiences. We are seeking a self-starter with superior written and verbal communication skills. This person will have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to change quickly. Being able to influence through communications in various forms, is key to success in this position. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Partner closely with clients and cross-functional partners to develop and implement a range of strategies and creative solutionsBuild and maintain trusted relationships with cross-functional teams, clients, and leadersBe a subject matter expert and consultant, providing sound communications guidance and recommendations to clientsWrite and edit communications from a range of internal sources, maintaining confidentiality when neededEnsure that communications tell an articulate, consistent story, providing the right context and level of detailDrive and/or collaborate with appropriate partners on marketing, communication activities, and eventsApply data-driven, analytical thinking to create effective communication strategiesLeverage internal channels to support communications and tactics THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE: The ability to be a self-starter and problem solver who enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with a variety of communication channels (Gmail, Zoom, Slack, etc.)Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively with multiple constituents, including peers, executive and management, and partnersExemplary organizational skills, analytical talent and attention to detailDecision-making skills to apply sound judgment decisions and recommendationsAbility to pose insightful questions, listen to others and learnProclivity to action and think creativelyOpenness to regular and candid feedback BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or Military experienceAt least 4 years of communications or marketing experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS At least 5 years of experience building and executing integrated campaigns to achieve measurable results based on business objectivesAt least 5 years of experience working, partnering with and influencing multiple constituents and stakeholders (internal and external), including senior executives At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
