How does it affect political philosophy? Is there an ethics of race? These are some of the questions that will be covered in this course on the critical philosophy of race. Students will be introduced to problems concerning the metaphysics of race, race and political injustice, ethics and recognition, race and aesthetic critique, and others. Number of Positions: 1 Estimated Course Enrollment: 50 students Estimated Number of Hours: 105 Hours Schedule : Lectures on Mondays 13:00-15:00; Tutorials on Mondays 15:00-17:00 Sessional Dates of Appointment: September 1st, 2023 - December 31st, 2023 Rate of Pay: $52.26 per hour plus 4% vacation pay Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: Undergraduate Degree in Philosophy. One year prior experience as a TA, preferably in Philosophy or a related field at U of T. Good prior knowledge of the subject matter of the course.
