Center 2 (19050), United States of America, McLean, VirginiaPrincipal Financial AnalystAs a Financial Analyst, you will work for a company that invests in ways to tell stories, view trends, and diagnose results in a more compelling and visual nature. You will have the opportunity to partner with business customers on driving strategic business direction that leads to sustainable performance and you will be asked to challenge our current well-managed processes to be more proactive, effective and efficient. Financial Analysts perform financial data analysis in preparing Profit & Loss or other statements and frequently build reports for higher level associates; provide management and business clients with project statuses; perform reporting and analysis to support presentation and ad-hoc requests.Roles require strong communication, problem solving, strategic thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively:Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insightsDevelop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior audiences Principal Analyst Responsibilities: Develop the Annual Budget, Monthly Financial Forecast and the Long-Term Financial PlanDevelop financial models and analyses to support growth of the business and strategic initiativesAnalyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including areas of revenue, expenses and capital expendituresMonitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected varianceAnalyze complex financial information and reports to support accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposesPrepare monthly, quarterly and annual Reporting and AnalysisIdentify industry trends and insights pertaining to competitor's strategies and/or relative financial performance (e.g. peer benchmarking)Perform ad hoc analysis using data retrievals from internal financial systems and external market databases and package insights into clear and concise presentationsWork closely with the business leads to help identify areas and processes for driving efficienciesImplement and work with Business Intelligence Tools and Dashboard reports Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 3 years experience in financial analysis and financial modeling Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative major (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering) or military experienceMasters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, or EconomicsCertified Treasury Professional or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CFM4+ years of experience in financial analysis and financial modelingAdvanced Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and Google Slides skills.Strong SQL and Python skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills3+ years experience in financial services, banking or technology industries3+ years experience partnering with senior leaders and internal stakeholders At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
